Quinoa And Brown Rice

High in protein and fiber ,quinoa is the one that has come a long way in almost all the grocery stores to the cook shows on television. These grain like crop are grown for their seeds. These seeds cooked are very palatable . There are many types of quinoa available. I have used Inca red quinoa.

Ingredients,
Brown rice- 1 cup ( uncooked)
Quinoa- 1/4 cup ( uncooked)
Garlic - 2 pods ( chopped)
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Red pepper flakes - 1 tsp
Extra virgin olive oil- 2 tbsps
Parsley - 1 tbsp ( finely chopped)
Salt - 1 tsp


  1. Soak brown rice with double the amount of water and soak quinoa with 1/2 cup of water and cook this in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
  2. Heat the pan with olive oil and add garlic and red pepper flakes.
  3. As they sizzle add  soy sauce .Add cooked quinoa and mix well.
  4. Add cooked brown rice and salt mix well.
  5. Sprinkle parsley and give it toss.
  6. Serve hot.

Soaked brown rice and quinoa to be cooked in pressure cooker.                  

Heat oil in a pan and add garlic and red pepper flakes.


Add soy sauce.


Cooked quinoa.


Add cooked quinoa .


Add brown rice and salt.


Sprinkle parsley and mix well.
