Steamed Wheat Flour Dumplings/ Menthye Kadubu

This is one of the Uttar Karnataka recipe, made with fenugreek leaves and wheat flour dumplings. This one was taught by my Mother in law. I liked this the first time she made it for me. This is not only easy to prepare but delicious too. the most important part which makes me so frenzy  about this is ,this doesn't need to be fried. This reipe is so simple and easy to cook yet very delicious to relish on.
Steamed dumplings are good to go for the evening snacks with some hot tea. Onion lovers can add on onions to this along with fenugreek leaves. My measurements in this recipe serves for two people.

Ingredients,
Wheat flour- 1 cup
Salt- 1/4 tbsp
Red chilli powder- 1/2 tbsp
Asafoetida- 2 -3 pinches
Cumin seeds- 1/2 tbsp
Fenugreek- 1/2 cup
Oil - 3 tbsps
Water- enough to knead into dough( like chapathi dough)

Add salt, red chilli powder, cumin seeds and asafoetida to the wheat four and mix well.
Slowly add water to this to form a lump and make dough, just like chapathi dough and knead well.
Make small portions of this dough, roll them in your palm into a round shape and slightly press them like a oval shape.
Take water in pot and heat it,add water enough to immerse these dough ovals.Take note that these dough ovals are going to absorb water and they will bulge.
When you see small bubbles forming in the water, add these dough ovals to the water and. Cook them for about 10 minutes.
Take these dumplings out of water and dry them on a paper towel.
In pan add 2 -3 tbsp of oil and add chopped fugreek leaves  to this and saute for a minute.
