Doodh Peda

I made this doodh peda for a special occasion at my house. This sweet was always my favorite but never tried to make it.Making it in microwave oven gave me a lot of confidence in making this sweet often. This is the most simplest and easiest sweet I have ever prepared. My family loves it a lot too.
I have used sweetened condensed milk and milk powder. For aroma I have added cardamom powder and saffron.

Ingredients,
Sweetened Condensed milk- 3/4 of a 14 oz can  (I have used a few spoons more than 3/4 of the can because I didn't want my pedas to be dry)
Milk powder - 1 cup
Butter-1 tbsp
Cardamom - 3 (only seeds powdered in a mortar and pestle)
Saffron strands - a pinch
Almonds /Pistachios - A few for garnishing.

In a pretty large microwave safe bowl (I mean it to be really larger because the condensed milk rises a lot during cooking in microwave oven) mix condensed milk and milk powder
.
Heat it in the microwave for 1 minute.Remove it from the microwave oven and stir in well.

Heat it again for 1 minute, remove and stir in well.

Add cardamom powder and saffron strands and mix well.

Heat it again for 1 minute and remove.Allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes.

Grease your hands well with ghee and roll these into small peda shapes.

Press almonds or any nuts in the middle.I did it for a few pedas, few I just rolled them without any nuts.

Just a picture of milk powder I used.

Mix condensed milk and milk powder in a large
microwave safe bowl.

Add butter and mix well.Heat for 1 minute in microwave
oven.

After 1 minute of heating.

Mix well and heat for 1 minute again.

After  heating.

Add cardamom powder and saffron strands.Mix well
and heat for 1 minute again in microwave oven.

After 3 minutes of heating .

Mix well and allow to cool.Grease your hands with ghee and
make peda shapes with your hands.Decorate it with
nuts or just roll them plain.
