One of the easiest and nutritious laddoo which is also very easy to make is the Dates laddoo.I have used whole lot of pitted dates,almonds and have used condensed milk to bind them together.
Dates have a whole lot of potassium and other minerals.It offers vitamins and also a small amount of calcium too.Almonds also give a considerable amount of vitamins and minerals which is very good for health specially for kids.If you are looking for one sweet that is not only tasty but also nutritious then this is the one.
Ingredients,
Pitted dates - 1 and 1/2 cups ( without seeds)
Sweetened Condensed milk- 1 cup
Butter - 2 tablespoons (You can also use ghee instead of butter)
Green cardamom - 3 ( only seeds to be powdered)
Ground almonds - 1/2 cup
Poppy seeds - Required enough to cover all the laddoos.
- Take the pitted dates in a blender and grind it to paste little by little for up to 1 and 1/2 cups.
- Take the dates paste in a pan and add some room temperature butter.Keep the pan on low flame.Stir in well until all the butter gets melted.
- Add condensed milk and cardamom powder and almonds powder all one by one.
- Keep stirring until the paste becomes thick and leaves the edges of the pan.
- Be careful to keep stirring so that the dates won't get burnt.
- Transfer to a bowl and allow it to get cooled a little.
- When it is warm and easy to handle make laddoos from your hands and roll them over some poppy seeds.Poppy seeds stick to the laddoos only when the laddoos are warm.
Take dates paste and butter in a pan.Keep the pan
on low flame.
Add sweetened condensed milk.
Add cardamom powder.
Add almond powder.
Stir on low flame until all the mixture leaves the
edges of the pan.
Transfer the mixture to clean dry bowl.Allow it
to cool down a little until it is easy to handle but still
warm.
Make laddu with your hands and roll it on some
poppy seeds.
