Uttappa

Uttappa is a fluffy dosa with onions,tomatoes and green chillies as toppings. I have used 3 different types of rice varieties. Sona masoori rice,par boiled rice and idli rice ,all three of them along with urad dal.
This measurement is for 4 people and I made use of this for 2 days. For lesser number of people soak 1/2 of the measurements.

Ingredients,
Sona Masoori Rice- 1cup
Par Boiled Rice- 1 cup
Idli Rice- 1 cup
Urad dal- 1 cup
Salt-2 tablespoons
Garlic- 4-5 pods ( chopped)
Onion- 1/2 cup( chopped)
Tomatoes-1/2 cup( chopped)
Green chillies-  3-4 finely chopped.


Soak Sona masoori rice,par boiled rice,idli rice and urad dal in water for 8 hours  and grind them into batter.Let it ferment for about 8 hours or overnight.Add about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of water while grinding the batter.
Add 2 tsps of salt and chopped garlic pieces in the batter.


  1. Pour two ladle full of batter on a hot pan.
  2. Sprinkle onions,tomatoes and green chillies on top.Spread a spoon full of oil/ghee all over the dosa.
  3. After a minute flip it and cook it on the other side.
  4. Serve with onion chutney or coconut chutney.
Add chopped garlic pieces in the batter.

Pour two ladle full of batter and sprinkle 
onions,tomaotes and green chillies.

Flip it once you see small pores forming on top
and cook.
