Naan

Naan is a very popular Indian bread. These are made traditionally in tandoor,a clay oven. These can also be done on a hot griddle. These are leavened breads ,part of North Indian cuisine. This recipe will blow off your mind when you try this with paneer butter masala. This makes atleast 13 fluffy naans.
I have added kaloji, onion seeds to give these a little twist.

Ingredients,
All Purpose Flour- 3 and 1/2 cups
Instant yeast- 1/2 tsp (teaspoon)
Milk- 1 and 1/4 cups
Salt- 1 tsp
Sugar- 1 tsp
Kaloji- enough to sprinkle (around 1 tbsp)
Butter- to brush on the naans.

  1. Take all purpose flour on your working place, add sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. Heat milk till it is warm ( Ideally 110 degree F)
  3. Slowly add the milk into the flour mix and knead well.
  4. Let it rest for about 2 hours.
  5. Punch it well and divide this into 13 smaller rolls and rest it for half an hour and cover with a wet cloth.
  6. Roll these smaller rolls into triangle shapes ,sprinkle kaloji and roll one last time.
  7. Heat the griddle, when it is hot put naan with the kalonji top on the griddle.I mean the side with no kalonji should be visible to you.
  8. Slowly you can see that the naan is rising, flip it on the other side until brown spots are seen on either sides.
  9. Brush them with butter on both the sides.
Add salt and sugar to the All purpose flour.

Add 1/2 tsp of instant yeast.

Pour warm milk slowly into the flour and knead well.
Let it rest for 2 hours.keep it in a closed container.

Divide them into 13 equal portions and allow them to rest
for half an hour before rolling them into Naans.
Cover with a wet cloth.

Roll each portion in triangle shape.

Sprinkle kalonji all over the dough rolled.

Put it on hot tava or griddle.
wait until you see the naan is rising a little.

Flip it over on the other side and bake.
Brush them with butter.
