Today I was very exhausted to do a very deliberate Indian breakfast,so tried to do this daintiness of the sandwich ,English cucumber sandwich.Since this archetypal English sandwich contain very little protein,it is generally not considered sustaining enough for an afternoon meal.As source from Wikipedia.
Since Indian culture is inveigled by British culture,we do see Indian people making these sandwiches with some green chutney and some potato filling too.
The modern variants of the daintiness of this sandwich is in showing the pores of the uncrusted white bread coated inside with butter spiced with dill leaves and thinly sliced cucumbers.
Cucumber's skin can also be decorticated and the body of the cucumber can be thinly sliced.I have not decorticated the skin of the cucumber here. This sandwich is also perfect tea time snacks.
Ingredients for English Cucumber Sandwich,
White bread-2 slices
Salted Butter-1 tbsp
Dill leaves-1 tbsp(finely chopped)
Mix butter and dill leaves in a small bowl.
Grease one slice of the sandwich bread with this spiced butter add sliced cucumbers on top of it.
Cover it with the other slice of bread and cut the crusted edges.
Cut diagonally and it's ready to serve.
