Freshly roasted and ground spices give it a nice flavor. Try this even with Basmati rice.
Ingredients,
Toor dal- 1/2 cup
Chana dal- 2 tbsps
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Black pepper - 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli - 1
Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tbsp
Garlic- 2 pods ( chopped)
Coconut milk- 1 cup
Salt - 1 tbsp( vary according to taste)
cooking oil- 1 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Roast coriander seeds,fennel seeds,black pepper and dry red chilli in a pan and grind it into a fine powder.
- Sauté garlic in a tbsp of ghee and a tbsp of oil .
- Add coconut milk and the ground spices.
- Finally add salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
Roast coriander seeds,cumin seeds,black pepper,fenugreek seeds and red chilli.
Saute gralic and green chilli in 1 tbsp of ghee and 1 tbsp of oil.
Add 1 cup of coconut milk
Add cooked dal.
Add roasted and ground spice powder and salt.
cook for 5 minutes.
