Hara bhara roti and Rajasthani daal

Hara bhara paratha,as the name suggests the roti itself is green in color with the spinach and a few fenugreek leaves.Fussy kids saying no to vegetables  definitely will not come to know what is really in these rotis and will really love them,specially because they are colored and healthy too.It is very simple to make and ready in minutes.

ingredients for hara bhara roti.
wheat flour(multi grain flour will do)-2 cups
spinach leaves-1 cup (chopped)
fenugreek leaves(methi leaves)-very few.(a teaspoon of leaves chopped)
carom seeds(ajwain)-1 teaspoon
salt-1/4 teaspoon.
water needed to knead the flour

In a grinder add the spinach leaves and fenugreek leaves and grind it into a fine paste with a little water just enough to make the leaves into a paste.Do not add too much of water, if this becomes too watery ,the dough will become watery and not good to roll into rotis.
Add this to the flour.Add the carom seeds,salt and knead it into a dough.now the dough is very soft,The dough is softer than the usual dough used to make rotis.Make small balls out of this dough.Roll out each dough into rotis.

Rajasthani Daal.

ingredients required for the Rajasthani daal,
Toor daal whole-1/4 a cup
moong daal-1/2 a cup
channa daal-1 teaspoon
tomatoes-2 chopped
asafoetida- a pinc
oil-2-3 teaspoons
jeera-1 teaspoon
coriander powder-1 teaspoon
cumin powder -1 teaspoon
turmeric-1 teaspoon.
salt- as per taste.
red chilli powder-1 teaspoon


  1. Mix the moong daal,toor daal,and the channa daal and pressure cook them until 3 whistles.
  2. In a pan pour oil,add the jeera,after the jeera starts to splutter,add turmeric and asafoetida .
  3. Now add the chopped tomatoes cook them until the tomatoes become like paste,after the tomatoes are done add the cooked daal ,add corainder and cumin powders and the red chilli powder and salt.cook for 2 minutes.
