Water- 3 1/2 cups (after sometime the rava soaks up water then you can add another 1/2 cup water)
Mix Semolina, rice flour and all purpose flour in a bowl .Add cumin seeds, ginger, salt and green chillies to it.Add 1 tsp of salt .
Keep adding water until the batter becomes watery.Take a lade full of batter or even better take a hand full of batter and keep sprinkling on the heated tava .Try to make it in a circular shape, although you can see chasms here and there.Keep the tava on medium flame.Thats how the rava dosa looks.
Stir batter with your hands and then take a handful of batter and sprinkle for each dosa.
Wait for 2 minutes ,slow down the heat .
Start slowly scraping out the dosa from the edge and then slowly you will be able to fold the dosa from both the sides.(see pic below).
Serve hot with chutney.
Sprinkle chopped onions on hot tava.
Keep the flame of the stove on medium.
Take a handfull of batter in your palm
and sprinkle it all around.Spread ghee/oil all over
(stir batter with your hands and then take a handful of
batter and sprinkle, for each dosa.)
Keep the stove on low flame once batter is
sprinkled.
Slowly scrape off the dosa and fold it
from both the sides.
